Began racing in 1999 in a Porsche 944 ITS car, obtained my SCCA regional license in 2000, and ran some MARRS club races. Best finish 4th place at Pocono. In September I competed in a Motorola Cup Pro race in a Mercedes Benz 190 16v at VIR and finished 8th. Also ran the EMRA 4 hour at Summit Point (4th overall) and the 24 Hours of Moroso (3rd overall). In 2001 I signed up with RC-Imports to do the Grand-am Cup Professional Street Stock Series again in a Mercedes Benz 190 16v. 3 top five finishes from 6 races with a best finish being a 4th at Phoenix International Raceway. We competed at Daytona, Homestead, Phoenix, Watkins Glen, Mid Ohio, and Mosport. Ended up 16th in points from a partial season (6 out of 10 races). We couldn't finish the series due to lack of funds. After that I formed King Rat Motorsports to further promote my racing plans. My wife Kim also began racing the Porsche 944 at this time, and we sold the Mercedes and bought the Acura Integra. 2002, Honda Challenge and got my fist win! This is a great series.
